Fading Out is an original storyline Roleplay, set in Japan in an alternate universe from our own. Most of the country is in ruin, but Tokyo remains a giant Utopian city inhabited only by the rich and famous. It is run by the Government, and they make everything clean and pretty in Tokyo. It is the place to be without a care in the world, if you can afford to live there.
Elsewhere, it's a fight for survival for most families who don't have enough money for food or shelter. Japan is a ghost of what it used to be, a 'ghettoland' overrun with destitute people. And the Government wants to keep it that way. Just so long as they can rule the city, they don't care what happens on the outside. They are a paranoid bunch, killing or abducting anyone who even thinks of opposing them. Many children are orphaned this way, either by the government or because their family simply ran out of luck.
In this chaotic world, there are the select few who have the power to do something about it. There is a special race, not quite human, called Makts. They look human, they act human, and they can be born from a completely human family, but they are not. Makts are born with a power, something normal humans don't have. And the only way you can tell the difference between a Makt and a human is by their eyes and by the ring on their hand. Word has been spreading of a mixed group of Makts and humans, led by a boy named Raiko. The Government, worried that they'll gain too much power, wants to wipe them out. But first they have to find them.
At the same time, there are a few humans who are truly dedicated to fighting back, in the style of their Japanese ancestors. The Shinsengumi have been reborn in Kyoto, and they are fighting like demons to bring back peace to Japan. Only a select few humans make it in, and they aren't seen for years for training, but once you get in, you are pledged for life to fight the Government.
So now, only one question remains:
